Promote vs Promote and Change Position (2nd question)

In the 'Promote' flow, the business unit and the position are hidden by default. In VB, we could make them visible and editable. This way, we could use the 'Promote' flow to perform a Promote and Change Position. This allows us to change the position, assignment, salary and payroll details in a single transaction.

In the 'Promote and Change Position' flow, we can leverage the sections Position Details (and Position Costing and Associated Profiles). I'm not sure what the advantage is of having the Position Details section available. When I select "modify existing position" I am not able to modify any position attribute.
