Sales Order Revision and automatic line split issue

Summary:

We are facing an issue with order line splitting behavior in Oracle Order Management after revising a sales order. Below are the details of our setup and observations:

 

Scenario 1 (Works as Expected):

• Sales Order with 2 lines:
  • Line 1: Order quantity = 100
  • Line 2: Order quantity = 10
• Setup:
  • Ship Lines Together = No
  • Shipment Set = Blank for both lines
  • Allow Partial Shipment = Yes for both lines
• Inventory Availability:
  • Item in Line 1 = 85 units available
  • Item in Line 2 = 20 units available
• Expected and Observed Behavior:
  • Upon estimating availability, Line 1 shows multiple shipments.
  • After submitting the Sales Order, Line 1 splits into two:
    • 85 units available for immediate delivery
    • 15 units backordered
