Not able to default salary in hire person page without progression grade ladder

Hi,

We currently have 100 grades with fixed rate values (Exemple: Grade 1 = 50 000$ (annual), Grade 2 = 52 000$ (annual)… and so on). There is not progression between these grades.

Requirement: We want to default these salary amounts during HR actions such as Hire WITHOUT creating 100 progression grade ladders. It seems that the only way to default is through Progression Grade Ladders as shown in user guide below.

Can anyone confirm that there is not other way to Default?

Thank you,

Howdy, Stranger!
