Oracle Linux: How to Generate and Use Auth Token/Secret Key for ULN

edited Mar 31, 2025 11:15AM in Linux

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.0 and laterLinux x86-64

Goal

This document provides details about Auth Token/Secret Key feature in ULN and how to generate, delete etc.

Solution

DISCLAIMER: Compute nodes running Oracle Linux on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure automatically have access to ULN content via the regional yum servers. This document applies only to those who want to explicitly register or already registered to ULN and use the contents directly from ULN instead of local YUM regional mirror.

ULN provides Auth tokens feature to allow users to use auth token instead of SSO password for authentication in uln_register, ulnreg_ks, uln-channel CLIs and ULN API. This feature allows the ULN user to manage the auth token from ULN UI portal
