Clarification on Use of Offset Accounts for Miscellaneous Transactions

Our management has decided not to use an offset account for any transactions. We would like to confirm whether an offset account is mandatory for miscellaneous transactions in Oracle. If it is not mandatory, could you please advise on the best alternative accounts we can use for such transactions?

We would appreciate any guidance or best practices you can share regarding this matter.
