Customer Communication Cloud Module

Has anyone used this Customer Communication Cloud module and do manuals exist for it? If so, how do I find / get them?

I have a client who is interested in this module to send text messages (SMS) to customers ahead of the appointment and get them to confirm, reschedule or cancel appointment via SMS. Just like to glossy marketing PDF suggests!!

I have to scope and estimate the work involved, but cannot find any documentation on how to configure or set up this module, what is included, or what is even involved. I know a separate SMS gateway is required, and possibly middleware as welI??
