Using Position Hierarchy Without HCM – Is It Possible and How?

Hi everyone,

We are currently using Oracle Fusion and would like to know if it's possible to configure and use Position Hierarchy for approvals without having the full Oracle HCM module.

Our use case is to route approvals based on positions rather than supervisory hierarchy. However, since we are not subscribed to HCM, we're unsure if this is feasible or supported.

Specifically, we would like to understand:

  1. Is the use of Position Hierarchy supported without the HCM license?
  2. If yes, what are the required setup steps to enable and configure Position Hierarchy for approval workflows (e.g., in Procurement or Expense modules)?
