Assigning Base Currency in Simplified Multicurrency

We currently have three input currencies, USD, GBP and CAD and one reporting currency of USD. All our entities were set up with USD as their base currency. We will soon be adding some entities that will have an input currency of EUR and a Reporting currency of EUR. Since we are using a simplified multicurrency app, should these entities also be set up with a base currency of USD?
