Best practices for using Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP in a fuel trading and distribution business model
We are currently supporting a customer in the fuel trading and commercialization industry who is using Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP. The customer is expressing dissatisfaction, as the system does not seem to fully support their business needs.
The implementation was originally focused on standard back-office functions (Financials and Procurement), but now the client is expanding into a fuel trading model that involves:
- Purchasing and selling fuel based on real-time price fluctuations (commodity-style trading).
- Variations in received vs. invoiced fuel volumes (due to temperature, pressure, etc.).
- Contracts with variable pricing and rapid operational cycles.
- Lack of precision in volume-based reconciliation (ESS Jobs and Inventory mismatches).
