Sending Sick resource back into bucket

Dear Experts,

We have a requirement that whenever a resource is sick during the day, his schedule is updated with Non-working reasons, then all the remaining activities in his route must be sent back to the bucket and must be available for routing to other suitable resource.

I couldn't find any API to update the resource ID in an activity, in a way that I could update the Resource ID of the sick technician with the bucket id. Alternatively, in message scenario also the launch condition is not on the schedule update.

Please help on this scenario.
