Email notification for Knowledge article expiry

Summary:

We need to trigger an email notification to few users before a month of knowledge article expiry. It is not possible to create an object workflow for a knowledge article or to trigger one from groovy. We are currently using classic version of knowledge and create articles from authoring.

Currently before a knowledge article expires the owner receives a bell notification (based on a profile option), clicking on it will not redirect to anything. But we would like to to know if the above requirement can be met in any way.
