Customizing VM Cluster Name During Creation

edited May 16, 2025 12:06PM in OCI - General 3 comments
I have a question regarding the creation of a VM cluster in a ExaCC.

After creating the vm-cluster-network followed by the vm-cluster,
I connected via SSH to one of the VMs and , under the grid user, ran the followinfg command:

@lexa171d:/home/grid (+ASM1) $ olsnodes -c
yul194957clu01

It appears that the name yul194957clu01 was auto-generated.

My question is:

During the VM cluster creation process, is it possible to assign a custom value instead of the default/auto-generated name (yul194957clu01)?

If so, at which step should this be specified?

Also, can this customization be done through the OCI Console (GUI), or is it only possible using the OCI CLI?

Howdy, Stranger!
