How does the per_person_names_f_ audit table get populated?

Summary:

I am creating a report to audit name changes in our system. This is so we can see where corrections happened, deletions etc. I have been using the

per_person_names_f_ table, but have run into a problem where the main per_person_names_f holds history info of an employee where the audit table does not. Is there a reason why the audit table doesn't hold the update with the name change?

Simple query just looking into the tables and compare my example employee shows this issue. Thank you.
