Withdraw adjustment grey'd out

We have 4 pending adjustments in a more research status, no one has the option to withdraw them (grey'd out). We also can't submit them because they aren't valid and the balances are no longer outstanding, so we get the following error: You can't create an adjustment for an amount that's more than the current outstanding balance. (AR-856779)

We're hoping for a way to remove them from the queue
