Is it possible to use Eloqua markup language or Eloqua expression language in the HTML Editor?

Wondering to what extents the Eloqua HTML editor can include EML or EEL (or similar) code?
I'm talking more about actually writing up conditionals, merges, etc in the source code, not just dropping in <_ span _> tagged components from the palattes.

This would seem to a much more flexible approach to complex builds.

Thoughts, experiences, yes or no?
