doo_headers_all.SOLD_TO_CUSTOMER_ID is not populated why

i noticed that doo_headers_all.SOLD_TO_CUSTOMER_ID is not populated but instead doo_headers_all.SOLD_TO_PARTY_ID. Is there a purpose for the column SOLD_TO_CUSTOMER_ID or is it obsolete now ?
