How to update the customer name for an active subscription?

Summary:

Need help with a scenario, So we have a subscription created for "Customer1" for an year with monthly billing. Now after 6 month we need to change the customer from Customer1 to Customer2. I am able to change the bill-to attributes within the subscription using REST API but I am unable to change the customer name. What can be done in a scenario like this? And if we are able to change the customer name, is it possible to bill Customer2 for the remaining 6 months of the subscription?
