Changing the POV of migrated Financial Report to Reports (Insert Formatted) report

When I edit the POV of a report downloaded using Insert Formatted Report, it appears to open a new Excel sheet rather than simply refreshing the values within the existing file. Is this the intended behavior of the new report format?

Previously, our financial reports functioned as refreshable reports within a tab of an existing spreadsheet, allowing formulas to dynamically link values across multiple sheets. Is there a way to ensure that editing the POV updates the data within the same sheet rather than generating a separate Excel sheet? Does HSTGET still work with the POV when displayed as a picture?
