Defaulting the Shipping Location in Sales Orders

We have used the following document:
Reference: FA\: SCM: OM: How To Default Scheduled Ship Date using PreTransformation Defaulting Rules (Doc ID 1377052.1)

We understand this document explains how to default the Scheduled Ship Date while using Global Order Promising (GOP). However, it seems that GOP is not executing the sourcing logic to determine the shipping location (Ship From).

So I would like to know:

  1. Is there a way to default the Scheduled Ship Date while still allowing GOP to determine the shipping location(Ship From)?
  2. Is there any documentation on how to use OM Extension or similar methods to default the shipping location(Ship From) based on sourcing rules?
