How to filter SR Status values based on selected Category in Oracle Fusion Service?

Summary: I'm working on Service Requests in Oracle Fusion and using standard SR fields.

I want to implement logic where the Status field values are filtered based on the selected Category. For example, if Category A is selected, only relevant Status values (say Status X, Y) should be shown; if Category B is selected, a different set of Status values should appear.

Is there a way to implement this using:

  • Application Composer (Groovy, dependent picklists, etc.)
  • VBCS (action chains, rules, or any other logic)

Both Category and Status are standard fields.

Is it possible to implement this kind of filtering in VBCS when working with standard objects? Any guidance or workaround would be appreciated.
