Audit trail report to identify opening and closing of ledger

Summary:

We need to have access to run the audit log on a monthly basis to identify the opening and closing of the ledger for prior periods. We would need to be able to filter down to obtain only the activity related to the opening and closing of the ledgers. This should be for the primary and secondary ledgers both.
Please provide us some insight on how to achieve this.
