Issue with using Accounting Period as RTP in Allocation Formula object

Summary:

When using Accounting Period dimension as RTP in Formula object instead of POV the rule validates and deploys successfully, however when we run the Create allocation job, it errors with below error.

When the same variable is used in POV the job runs successfully. Not sure why the behavior is different when we use the variable (RTP) within formula object.

Our requirement is to consider the previous period balance to create allocations in current month, hence try to use to different Accounting period varaibles. Any advise would be helpful
