Help Needed: Custom Deduplication/Merge Rule for Profiles with Missing Email in Oracle Unity

I need assistance with configuring deduplication and merge rules for customer profiles in Oracle Unity to cover a specific use case our business requires.

Requirement Description:
Currently, Oracle Unity allows us to deduplicate and merge profiles when all of the following attributes match:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Phone

However, we have a recurring scenario where a duplicate profile may be missing the email address but still shares the same Name and Phone with an existing profile. For example:

  • Profile 1: Name = John Doe, Email = john@example.com, Phone = 1234567890
  • Profile 2: Name = John Doe, Email = john@example.com, Phone = 1234567890
  • Profile 3: Name = John Doe, Email = (null), Phone = 1234567890
