Source Based Promising in GOP

Summary:

Hi Experts,

Could you please let me know if anyone implemented Source based promising for promising sales orders or used in external calls?

Till now the information I have from the user guide and CCC posts :

A) Source based promising is applicable for both Back-to-Back and normal items.

B) We do not have to collect Supply data. However, master data is to be collected.

C) We can not have Item based sourcing rules.

D) REST API call can be used to do the availability check.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone can share his/her hands-on experience.
