Customization Request – Period Close Button to Validate ESS Job Statuses Before Proceeding

We are exploring the possibility of customizing the Period Close button functionality in Oracle Fusion to introduce a validation mechanism that checks the statuses of specific ESS (Enterprise Scheduler Service) jobs before allowing the period to be closed.

Business Requirement:
Before users initiate the period close process, the system should automatically check the statuses of required ESS jobs (e.g., cost import, journal creation, etc.). If all required jobs have completed successfully, the system should allow the period to be closed. Otherwise, it should restrict the action and notify the user about the pending or failed jobs.

Current Behavior:
The standard Period Close button does not perform such validations automatically, which may lead to incomplete or incorrect data being included in the close process.
