Skipping ZIP file when uploading CSV via File Import and Export – any risks?

Hi,

Are there any consequences I should be aware of when uploading CSV files directly via the File Import and Export page, instead of using a ZIP file?

The CSV is generated by a third-party application with the exact specifications for the Import Journals process. I can see that the file is successfully populating the interface table after running the Load Interface File for Import scheduled process.

Since the Import Journals process only requires the GL_INTERFACE table to be populated, can I safely skip zipping the file? Is the ZIP format only needed when multiple interface tables must be populated at once, or is there another purpose I may be overlooking?
