An OTBI report with mutiple subject area from ERP and HCM

Summary:

I want to create an OTBI report consisting of Journal header Id, batch id, Journal created by Username, Approval status , rejected by whom(if any), Department that worker belongs to. Most of the information can come through ERP side. But Employee dept is needed from HCM side. Also, person who rejected the journal might come from workflow approvals. When I add all these columns together it shows nothing in the results tab. I need to create a Union between multiple subject area. Can anyone guide me on this issue
