Calling Fusion API using oauth

Hi Team,

We are on Oracle Fusion version 25B. We also have OIC as well as Apex application deployed in oci paas environment.

Currently, we are using basic authentication to access fusion apis(Rest & Soap & BI reports) from OIC and also from Apex.

For basic authentication, we have created username and password in fusion application, assigned required roles to that user.

Now, we want to use OAUTH 2.0 authentication. For this, we have created confidential application with grant type as client credentials in fusion iam domain. We got the client id and client secret, scope etc….

Now,In fusion, Do we need to create username with same name as client id and assign the required roles? Is it mandatory?
