Migrating from legacy sync to SFDC sync - Checkbox value mismatch error

Checkbox value of "on" will not pass to SF where the SF value is "true" using the new SFDC App, but it does pass using the legacy external call. Looking for solutions.

We are rebuilding our main lead sync from Eloqua to SFDC. We have been using the legacy external call until now. We have three consent checkboxes (phone, text and email). The checked value is 'on' as defined in the field itself. This sync has been working fine for years this way.
