Can dropdown values in a DFF and standard field be linked to update from a single source?

We have two dropdown fields in Oracle Cloud HCM — one configured using a Descriptive Flexfield (DFF) and the other is a standard Oracle-delivered field. Both use the same list of values. The client wants to know if it's possible to link these fields so that any update to the list of values in one field automatically reflects in the other, ensuring consistency and reducing manual maintenance.
