Is there a rest api to link Meter template to Assets directly?

Summary:

We have loaded the Maintenance Installed Base assets into Fusion, now we need to link them with meter templates so that we can work on loading Meter Readings. However we were not able to find any REST API that can be used to link assets directly to Meter Templates.

We found REST API to link Item to Meter template, but our requirement is to link asset directly to meter template. Can you please let us know if there is any such REST/SOAP API.
