Questions on Custom attributes and columns assigned to these attributes when sandbox is published

Summary:

I have a few questions regarding custom fields creations and columns assigned to them when sandbox is published.

Question 1:

Created a few custom fields in subscription product and subscription product bill lines object. After publishing sandbox, I checked in Configuration report and found out that Character attributes are assigned columns starting from EXTN_ATTRIBUTE_CHAR003 onwards and number attributes are assigned columns starting from EXTN_ATTRIBUTE_NUMBER004 onwards and Not from 001.

So, Are Columns EXTN_ATTRIBUTE_CHAR001, EXTN_ATTRIBUTE_CHAR002 reserved for Oracle Internal use and are NEVER assigned to custom fields? Same question for EXTN_ATTRIBUTE_NUMBER001 to 003?
