Adding Accrual Reversal in Live application

in Subledger Accounting & Accounting Hub

Customer wants to add Accrual Reversal Option after application is configured. We only have one event class and event type as of now. For doing Accrual Reversal on first date of new accounting period , should I create a new event type ? can we add new event type from UI ?
