Manual Subledger journal is not routing for approval after clicking submit for approval button

Summary:

After enabling exception-based approval for Manual Subledger Entries, enabling the Payables journal source to require manual subledger journal approval, and successfully uploading the SRC spreadsheet with a role-based rule the routing is not triggered. After doing the previously stated and when creating a manual subledger journal upon clicking the submit for approval button nothing occurs. After clicking the submit for approval button the system looks to be making a call, however nothing happens, no confirmation message, error message, or transaction console entry occurs.
