New Screens option in Release 25D - single screen configuration

In the release notes for 25d the below is stated:
'For Fusion Field Service customers, screen configuration is now shared across all user types, eliminating the need to select a user type when working on the Screens page.'
Does this really mean that it will no longer be possible to create multiple user types that have different screen configurations and that it will all need to be done via 'visibility settings'. If so, this seems like a backward step as I can't recall an implementation that uses the same configuration across all user types.
For a simple example, a technician user may be configured to use a Smartphone with tabs that can expanded vs. a Dispatcher who uses a Desktop and would like to see all the data immediately.
