One approval suffices for consecutive stages with the same approver; non-consecutive stages require

Summary:

If the same person appears as the approver in two consecutive stages, he needs to approve only once. The system automatically consolidates the approvals.

However, if the same person is assigned as the approver in non-consecutive stages, he needs to approve each stage separately.

Example: If D is both the 4th and 5th approver, he only needs to approve once. But if A is the 1st and 6th approver, he needs to approve twice, once at each stage.
