Receiving ORA-01407: cannot update (???) to NULL when evaluating Termination life event

We are trying to evaluate the Termination life event for an employee. When selecting the Evaluate Life Events option, nothing happens. Nothing processes nor do we receive an error.

We processed the Termination life event for the employee using the Evaluate Life Event Participation process and receive ORA-01407: cannot update (???) to NULL error message. What does this mean?
