Notification sent immediately to hiring team although job requisition is set to be posted later

We Currently have alerts set up via alerts composer to be sent to the hiring team when a job has been posted both internally and externally. However, when the hiring team say the recruiter schedules a job requisition to be posted at a later date, by selecting post later and entering a future date, they still receive the alert notification that the job has been posted although its in the future with a link to the job posting.

This does not make sense. Is this how it is supposed to work, or is there any way we can restrict the alert to not be triggered immediately when a requisition is posted for a later date.
