Connecting ADFDI journal upload file to the Application

I opened the ADFDI journal upload file, without connecting to the application. I was displayed with the message 'You are about to connect to the following application UEL: XXXXXXX. Do you want to connect?' I clicked on the button No. This is because I must do quite a lot of work to prepare the journal to be in a state ready to load. As a result I am not displayed with the worksheet tab Create Journal. Now after I have completed all the preparation work, how do I connect the ADFDI file to the application to upload the journal. I do not wish to Save > Exit > Open the file again, which I know will allow me to upload the journal. Instead, I wish to connect to the application instantaneously from an un-connected sate. Appreciate any thoughts/inputs.
