ESS - Issue with Relationship start Date field value disappear while editing

Summary: we are on 25C and we noticed a loss of functionality under "Before you enroll". In RUI, we had a display message below the Relationship Start Date stating how far the date can be backdated and changed during update or correction.

Currently in RW, when we click on the Relationship Start Date the date field clears the existing value. Though the calendar days does not allow the user to go back beyond the Original Relationship Start Date but still it is difficult for everyone to remember the date while correcting or updating. is there a way we can customize to get the message similar to RUI.
