Custom Favicon not found for Redwood theme

Configured a Redwood theme with a custom favicon image (72x72px png). After publishing, the page loads, the favicon file throws a 404 not found error on the console. Seems like the custom image file isn't being published.

Favicon shows fine in the Sandbox, but results in the default favicon (a globe) once it's published. Confirmed in three different non-production environments.

Bug? Ideas? Help?
