Can bank statements be reconciled against system transactions from multiple BUs/LEs?

Can you please confirm if bank statements can be reconciled against system transactions from multiple business units/legal entities.  Are there any limitations where statements must be in the same legal entity to the system transactions they are reconciling against?

We currently have 1 bank account for Online Store transactions and need to know if this needs to be split into a bank account per state. Please confirm what options we have.
