How does OFSC determine Work Zone assignment when using GIS Shape File

Hi Everyone,

I am working on Work Zone determination using a GIS Shape file in Oracle Field Service Cloud and need some clarification on how OFSC assigns activities to the correct Work Zone.

Here is what I have configured:

  1. I uploaded a WorkZone Layer on the Business Rules → Work Zone Layer page.
  2. Used SRID = 2279.
  3. Set ShapeIdentifier = ID1 in the layer.
  4. Added the same value of ID1 under Configuration → Work Zones → Work Zone Shapes.

My question is:

How does OFSC determine that an activity belongs to a particular Work Zone when using GIS-based shapes?

  • Does OFSC automatically use the activity’s coordinates to evaluate which polygon (shape) it falls into?
