Update Accounting Method after Ledger and setup

Summary:

HI Team,

We have the setup created for Ledger and the application. Currently wanted to update the Accounting method from standard accrual to Standard accrual with encumbrance.

Can we directly update at specify ledger options level or will it cause an issue as old accounting method is assigned to the ledger setup?
