responsys in app notification

Hello,

I have a scenario where I send a push notification with launch app action and then i also have a In App banner setup to show once the App opens.

But, when I click on the push notification and the App opens, then In App banner does not show. But when I kill the app and just open the app normally then the In app banner shows up.

Is it not possible to link these two actions together or is it expected to work this way which I observed.
