Absence Sick, Vacation Disbursement Earning result FIT Exempt

sometimes when we are adjusting the sick/ vacation amounts and not the hours, we use the sick leave earnings results shadow element and enter the amount through element entry (or hdl if larger population). However, that entire amount is being exempted from taxes.

The amount sits in FIT Exempt balance.

When absence elements are entered through element entry they are getting exempted from taxes

 I read a note where it said we should add 'absences' to 'Standard Earnings'. However, if I do that, then whether the amount is entered through element entry or through absences page, entire amount is going into FIT Exempt balance.
