What is the best practice to debug complex sales orders in lower environments

Summary:

Recently obtained information from support that cloned sales orders do not have 'SOA Data' copied into the clone, and that such orders cannot be used to debug issues, since the orchestrations may not progress.

Oracle recommended redoing the orders manually in the lower environment to reproduce the issue.

This information perplexes us, as now we are wondering how we can debug and validate solutions when we encounter an issue on a complex order. For example the SR where we got this information, the order had over 50 lines, of which there were 7 kits with loads of components, and some of those components were also kits. And this order had been revised 24 times.
