Getting Error when trying to print 1099s

When I run the US 1099 Media Report it fails and I receive this message below. I have checked the supplier record and it is 9 digits and correct. How can I correct this?

This report failed because the program encountered the following supplier exception
Supplier Name Smith, John
Reason TIN not 9 digits.
Please resolve all exceptions listed on the 1099 Supplier Exceptions Report and the 1099 Invoice Exceptions Report before resubmitting this program.
