Updating TalentProfile CLOB Fields via HCM Extracts – Guidance Needed

We currently use a custom HCM Extract with a BI Publisher eText template to generate an HDL-compatible TalentProfile.dat file for candidate data masking. The extract uses the Data Loader Interface delivery option and works successfully for non-CLOB TalentProfile attributes.

Requirement:

Extend this fully automated process to update CLOB fields (e.g., skills descriptions, qualifications) in TalentProfile for privacy compliance. HDL requires CLOB updates via a ZIP containing a ClobFiles subfolder with external text files referenced in the .dat file, without manual intervention.

Challenges:

  • HCM Extracts do not support creating a ClobFiles subfolder or externalizing CLOB content.
