In change assignment transaction, salary section is not getting updated

Summary:

While doing change assignment, grade and steps are updated on assignment section but not reflecting in salary section and it is still picking up old values.

I did change assignment with same position for different employee works just fine for them.

All the employees having issues were reverse terminated and then we were processing them for position change with change assignment but grade and salary is not getting reflected as per new position.

Did anyone come across something similar?
